Premier studio effort from Middlesex County's most disorienting rock 'n roll entertainer, Gangbang Gordon. Gangbang Gordon cites solo garage legends Nobunny and Jay Reatard as musical heroes, although his guileless creativity is more akin to outsiders like Captain Beefheart and Alvin Dahn. This album is about as "with it" as Gangbang Gordon has ever been in his five year recording tenure, though it does cover broad terrain: Aussie inflected punk, Spanglish hip hop, bizarro Jandekian home recordings, you name it. It's not an everyman kind of thing to be a garage punk Weird Al of sorts (Gangbang Gordon doesn't 'parody' music, he appreciates it, sings over it, plays over it, and puts his own unknowing spin on new creations), but out there somewhere Gangbang Gordon is filling a void rooted in admiration and having good ole creative fun. 'Culturally Irreleverent' is yet another "did he really just do that?" choice performance. - H.J. Harry
